Solutions4CO2 is an Ontario corporation formed in 2010 to pursue the commercialization of capturing and infusing carbon dioxide (CO2) into solution using the patented Glassford mass gas transfer capture and infusion system. Gas infusion extracts CO2, NO2 and SO2 from flue gas and biogas and efficiently mass transfers high concentrations of the extracted CO2 into water.

S4CO2 develops industrial-scale CO2 capture and use solutions. Uses of dissolved CO2 gas in solutions include rapid acceleration of algae growth for third-generation biofuels production, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, animal/aqua feed, mineralization and separation into clean commercial CO2.

In November 2011, S4CO2 announced that it will locate its demonstration facility and global headquarters in Sarnia, Ontario with joint financial support that includes the Sustainable Chemistry Alliance and investment firm Macquarie Private Wealth Inc., which acted as Agent for a private placement offering of special warrants in the amount of $1,516,000.

Co-products that S4CO2's customers will initially be making from infused CO2 in solution include nutraceuticals such as Omega-3, pharmaceuticals such as astaxanthin and beta-carotene, biomass soil amendments, and bio-chemicals from the bio-crude oil.

The company envisions the transformation of greenhouse gases such as CO2 from environmentally harmful compounds, to beneficial inputs for high value co-products such as Omega-3 and bio-chemicals. This value chain is described as: waste CO2 and water, to high value co-products.

S4CO2's mission is to scale the technologies across the value chain (from CO2 infusion, to algae cultivation and extraction of high value co-products), improve the technological efficiency of the processes, and identify new applications for the technologies.
